While most were winding down after Christmas, David and Sean were just getting started. On 30th December, nestled in the heart of Bodmin Moor’s sweeping countryside, the couple gathered with their closest loved ones at Trevenna Farm - a cosy wedding venue in Cornwall that proved a fitting stage for a day full of love, laughter, and some seriously memorable moments.
Where Soul Meets Setting
Trevenna Farm is the kind of venue that feels like a warm embrace from the moment you arrive, where rolling hills, stone barns, and far-reaching views of the moorland come together to create a seamless blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. With 60 guests joining the couple for the day and 10 more arriving in the evening, it was a close-knit gathering that felt deeply personal, yet brimming with life.
The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with the venue’s natural beauty doing most of the talking. Inside, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree stood tall, glowing alongside twinkling lights and festive flourishes throughout the venue. From the very start, there was a sense that this celebration was crafted with real care and full of meaningful touches.
There were tributes to loved ones who couldn’t be there, lovingly displayed in ornately framed photos - a gentle yet poignant reminder of those held close in heart. Each table was named after a city David and Sean had visited together, accompanied by Polaroid snapshots from their adventures in places like Prague, Budapest, and Disneyland Paris. Guests were even treated to a few quiz questions about the happy couple, adding a playful and personal twist.
A Wedding True to Themselves
David and Sean made it clear from the start: their wedding wasn’t about tradition for tradition’s sake. They kept their names, stayed true to what felt authentic to them, and planned an evening that brought everyone together to celebrate their love.
Following dinner, the couple gave a heartfelt joint speech, thanking their guests, sharing stories, and reflecting on their journey together. It was a beautiful way to honour the moment and set the tone for the night ahead.
After cutting their cake at 7:15pm, the couple shared their first dance, a beautifully pared-back version of I’m in Love by Sanna Nielsen. With the song providing a soft, cinematic backdrop, David and Sean shared a moment that felt both intimate and theatrical, soaking in every word, every note, and every smile from the people that they love the most.
Firelight, Entertainment, and Celebration Unite
The first of two live sets kicked off after the first dance, running from 7:15 to 8:15pm. With the firepit glowing and sparklers in hand, guests floated between the music and the crisp winter air, stopping to toast marshmallows under the stars. The blend of nature, nostalgia, and live music created an atmosphere unlike any other - wholesome, heartfelt, and full of character.
Taking to the stage were The Atlantic, a talented Cornwall wedding band fronted by a sensational female vocalist. Their mix of pop, rock, and indie favourites ignited the night, turning familiar tunes into something electric. Track by track, they shaped the mood, read the crowd, and delivered an astonishing performance, with music that didn’t just entertain but echoed the couple’s energy and rhythm of the day.
The band were well looked after by the team at Trevenna, with hot food and plenty of space to relax in between sets. And with no stress around parking or sound levels, everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
Evening munchies made their way around at 9pm, keeping everyone fuelled for part two of the band’s live set, which took over the dance floor from 10-11pm. The energy built gradually before erupting into full celebration - feet moving, drinks clinking, and laughter echoing across the Cornish countryside.
High Praise From the Newlyweds
Reflecting on the night, David shared these kind words about The Atlantic:
We decided we wanted a band for our wedding; however, we no longer live locally and therefore didn’t know of any local acts. We came across The Atlantic online and saw some of their clips on YouTube. We’re so pleased we went ahead with them. They were great and had our guests on the dance floor the whole time. They chose the set and knew what would get people dancing. A great find!
A Fitting End to the Year
David and Sean’s Trevenna Farm wedding was a beautiful reminder that the most memorable celebrations are those that reflect who you are. It was authentic, filled with excitement, and completely their own - from the tenderness of the first dance to the firelit laughter, festive drinks, and the final songs that brought the night to a perfect close.
