Spring Elegance in Cornwall: An April Wedding at Polurrian on the Lizard

Recently, our talented three-piece band, Something Borrowed, performed at the stunning Polurrian on the Lizard, a contemporary seaside hotel offering magnificent views of Mounts Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

This idyllic venue, with its beautifully designed interiors, lush gardens, and private beach at Polurrian Cove, provides a romantic backdrop for any wedding. Polurrian Wedding Perfection

Harry and Emma's wedding was a beautiful celebration, attended by around 100 guests on a sunny, cheerful day.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy as the couple marked their special occasion, and Something Borrowed were honoured to set the tone with an animated and engaging performance that kept the celebration in full swing.

Polurrian on the Lizard boasts some of the best views of any wedding venue in the South West. Captured beautifully by Hannah Timm Photography, the hotel’s location offered spectacular photo opportunities, with the rugged coastline and vibrant seascapes providing a picturesque setting.

As the sun dipped beneath the waves, the evening's entertainment began. One of the highlights was the first dance, “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” by Leo Sayer, which Something Borrowed performed live at 7:30pm. The couple looked fantastic on the dancefloor and were soon joined by family and friends, setting the mood for a night of lively partying.

Entertainment and Guest Experience

Following the final formality of the evening, the band seamlessly transitioned into the first set, keeping guests on their feet and creating an electric atmosphere. After an hour of non-stop dancing, guests took the opportunity to recharge with a lovely buffet before returning to the dancefloor for the second set, from 9:30pm to 10:30pm.

At FPM Music Management, we love to add personal touches, so Harry and Emma were encouraged to share their favourite “dancing songs” in advance. This allowed Something Borrowed to tailor their complimentary DJ set - weaving in both the couple’s picks and guest requests - ensuring everyone enjoyed the night to the fullest.

And it had everything! From Elton John and Queen to House of Pain and Lou Bega, via The Greatest Showman, everyone in attendance was well catered for and had the time of their lives.

Smooth Logistics and Final Thanks

At Polurrian on the Lizard, the absence of a sound limiter meant Something Borrowed could bring the energy and joy needed for a high-spirited celebration without restrictions. The hotel’s convenient parking facilities, located at the front, made it easy for the band to unload equipment and prepare for the evening's festivities while providing accessible parking for guests. Delicious food also ensured the trio were well-fuelled for an energetic performance.
